CONTESTS
1. The length of a video is not to exceed 10 minutes. This rule may be adjusted if the number of participating members create a situation where the consumption of time becomes excessive. A reasonable amount of time must be allowed to the editors from the time a new length requirement is established to the next competition.
2. A video submitted for competition must not contain materials or language that could be considered objectionable by the members. Certain political situations may be excepted.
3. All submitted videos must exhibit evidence of editing and must have a title and ending. If a member wants input on a video in the works he/she is invited to show the material during another meeting. The member must request time from the Program Chair Person.
4. If a video wins an Award or Honorable Mention in a LACC competition it is no longer eligible in any other LACC contests except for the Annual Fall Competition in which all winners of the preceding year are eligible.
5. A contestant may enter two videos in a competition, each clearly marked A and B. The A submissions will be shown first, then if time allows we will show the B videos. The contest Chair Person may choose to hold a competition in which regular videos and Specified Subject videos are to be shown (Such as a one minute video). Only one of each type per contestant will then be accepted.
6. If a video maker wins with both of his/her entries in a single competition one of the entrees will be discarded. The video having received the highest number of points will be kept. In the event that both videos achieve the same score, the B will be discarded. The discarded video will be considered Not Shown and therefore eligible in a future contest.
7. Any video that has won an Award or Honorable Mention in a prior competition, but has been substantially re-edited will be considered a New video for subsequent contests.
8. If any member wishes to question the club as to the reason his/her video failed to win an award we hope they would feel free to do so. The Los Angeles Cinema Club would be pleased to offer any assistance to help create a better video to any of it's members.
